In the noble metal refinery, 80% of investment and operating costs is not used for new production, but for disposal, treatment and recycling of waste materials that emerge during the production process. The environment policy adopted by NADIR is to be "honest" to environment and to people. In order to minimize the burden of the industrial activity on the environment, NADIR undertakes all costs to go beyond the treatment thresholds set forth by the laws and rules and gets prepared for the environmental norms of the near future.
This approach by NADIR is not adopted to be "politically-correct", but it is perceived as an environmental policy based on ethical values. In this sense, NADIR wishes to become a role model for its colleagues in the same field both for the sake of environment and for the prevention of unfair competition.
NADIR has obtained all legally required permits and licenses; namely, EIA Regulation Certificate of Capacity, Emission License (Ministry of Environment and Forestry), Certificate of the Ministry of Labor, and Discharge Quality Control License (İSKİ). In addition to the above, NADIR has proved its sensitivity towards the environment by obtaining ISO 14001:2004 environment certificate. |
